Emily Millanes serves as the Chief Compliance Officer for Sterling Investment Advisor. In this role, she is responsible for leading the internal processes for promoting and ensuring SIA’s compliance with laws, regulations, company policies and contracts. She is also responsible for formulating and implementing SIA’s policies and procedures, including its Code of Conduct, and making sure they are communicated and trained upon across the company. She ensures that the Directors, management and employees are in compliance with the rules and regulations of applicable regulatory agencies, that company policies and procedures are being followed, and that behavior in the organization meets company standards of conduct.
Emily has been in the financial services industry since 2000 and held positions of Broker’s Assistant, Branch Office Manager and Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction with previous firms. She made the switch from Broker-Dealer to Investment Advisory supervision in 2008 and joined SIA in 2010 as their Chief Compliance Officer and has since been appointed to sit on the Board of Directors for Sterling Revenue Group and Sterling Group United. She volunteers as the Club Director for City Volleyball Club and is also active with the Franklin Parent Organization of Benjamin Franklin Elementary Schools. She resides in Mesa, AZ with her husband and three children.
